Homework Bags

Primary 1C were recently given homework bags to take home. We were all so excited to be getting homework just like the big boys and girls! Inside our Primary 1 homework bags you will find:

*Homework diaries (these tell the adults at home what to do just incase we forget!)

*Reading books

*Word boxes (long strip of laminated words that can be sounded out)

*Tricky word ladders (on cardboard, strips stapled together)

*ORT word cards (inside our diaries, these are words we have to learn for our reading books - some of these cannot be sounded out)

*Jolly Phonics sounds cards (inside little poly bag)

*Maths worksheets/ topic activities

*Name cards (laminated with name to help with formation, size and placement of letters)

*Parents information booklets for Jolly Phonics

*Pairs game

*Any important letters from our teachers/ school office.

Mrs Wallace and Miss Mains said we must try to remember our homework bags (with everything inside) everyday, because we sometimes use the materials in class. Primary 1 will work with  ORT word cards, reading books, sound cards, word boxes and word ladders over the course of each week with Mrs Wallace and Miss Mains. It is very important that we try not to lose any of the contents of our homework bags. Parents and carers should use the homework diary as a means of communication with our school, because our teachers check our diaries every day. Return slips from letters sent home should be put in our diaries.
